Why buy stainless steel on Dhanteras?

Dhanteras marks the start of the five-day Diwali festival, and bringing new metal into the home on this day is considered a sign of prosperity for the year ahead. Alongside gold and silver, many families buy new steel utensils, because steel is something the household uses every day and a good piece lasts for decades.
